Subscription and Update Notification

Hi,

I have been tasked with adding a subscription and change
notification feature to our plone site.  I noticed on the list of
UI Tasks that there is a task #18 that sounds like what I want.
Is this pending indefinitely?  If I have to roll up my sleves
and code it myself, any suggestions or input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Bill

You can also try PloneSubscription:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/ingeniweb/PloneSubscription/

I have to finish to write documentation and I will make the 1.0 release
tomorrow.

Re: Subscription and Update Notification

I downloaded the compressed tarball from
http://plone.org/products/plonesubscriptions/releases/1.0.  I also
tried the cvs repository, but got the same issues.

There are two issues I would like to bring to your attention:

1) PloneInstallation is also a prerequisite or it won't install.  This
is not listed as a requirement.

2) Installation of PloneSubscription fails with NameError: global
name 'RoleInstaller' is not defined.  This is called from the Install.py
file.

Commenting out the offending Python code allows the product to install,
but I'm sure that something is probably broken somewhere.  Where is
RoleInstaller?

Thanks,
Bill

Re: Subscription and Update Notification

PloneSubscriptions is not a core Plone product, please take this
discussion to plone-users.
