2.1(.1) - Calendaring - This Product is broken

When installing Calendaring on 2.1 or 2.1.1 under MAC OS, win XP, and Redhat
Linux, I keep getting the following error:

2005-10-19 15:39:02
failed:
Traceback (most recent call last):

  File
".../Products/CMFQuickInstallerTool/QuickInstallerTool.py",
line 311, in installProduct
    res=install(portal)

  File
".../Software/Zope278/Zope/lib/python/Products/ExternalMethod/ExternalMethod.py",
line 225, in __call__
    try: return f(*args, **kw)

  File
".../Products/Calendaring/Extensions/Install.py",
line 76, in install
    install_tools(self, PROJECTNAME, [CalendarTool.meta_type], out)

  File
".../Products/Calendaring/Extensions/Install.py",
line 64, in install_tools
    addTool(tool)

  File ".../Products/CMFCore/utils.py", line 486,
in manage_addTool
    obj = tool()

  File
".../Products/Calendaring/tools/calendar.py",
line 143, in __init__
    BaseTool.__init__(self)

AttributeError: __init__

I have installed the dateutil python module, just don't know enough python to
debug this myself.  any thoughts?

You look at the wrong type of traceback (a stupid (non Zope aware)
Python traceback). You should look at the Zope aware (and
much more informative) traceback in "error_log"
(ZMI --> Root Folder --> error_log).

The "__init__" in line 143 expects the base class ("BaseTool")
to have an "__init__" method -- but this does'nt.

Thus, there is some incompatibility.
Maybe, upgrades will help.

If not, you can fix (comment out) the call of the mission "__init__".
